Other Services:

As DSS is a small farm and there is not always room for every project, Carly would be happy to travel to your farm and work with your horse(s) for $50 per day/horse. Carly is especially handy in taming young horses and teaching them how to act like citizens on the ground in everyday activities, stressing smart curiosity and sensibility. Of course, her specialty is putting the foundation in place for a great riding partner that is well-rounded in its talents.

Included in Full Care Board:

Daily turnout in our solid, no-climb fencing (weather permitting)

Grain twice per day with supplements added at owner's expense

Unlimited hay

Worming every eight-weeks

Blankets/boots/masks at owner's expense

Stall cleaned as needed (we use high-quality Streu-Fex straw pellets)

Scheduled Blacksmith visits at owner's expense

Scheduled vaccinations at owner's expense

Your horse will enjoy our relaxed atmosphere and modern facilities whether they're here to learn something new or find a new home.

The 2-stall run-in barn, attached to paddocks 1&2 and the finished 5-stall Sylvan & Stoltzfus barn

Spacious 12x12 stalls allow for proper socializing of the horses. Each stall has a door yoke and window for maximized space. There is also a 14x12 foaling stall.

14x12 Tack Room & 10x12 Wash Stall, both with hot and cold water. There is also a 10x12 feed room.

Our horses are turned out as much as the weather will possibly permit. They are turned out after breakfast and brought in before dinner in the winter and are turned out for the night in the summer to avoid bugs. Hay is offered in the dry-lots. Horses also have the option of living outside at DSS, as our 2 yearlings do. There are two "dry-lots" and three large, grassy fields. DSS is always being renovated and updated to accommodate growth so keep an eye on us!

DSS also boasts a large pole barn for storing hay and extra grain/shavings, a new 120x80 all-weather ring, and ample open space for hacking out.
